How we came about

Meeting

We are parents who met each other seven years ago as part of a coaching course organised and funded through the Enfield branch of the National Autistic Society.

To gain our diploma we were trained by highly experienced coaches and trainers in the fields of coaching, mentoring and autism, and volunteered our time to coach autistic adults over the course of two years to gain our qualifications.

Having seen for ourselves the positive impact coaching can have we set up Auternative Coaching to continue to offer specialist coaching to autistic people and their families.

About our coaching

Casual Meeting

Coaching is a proven, effective way to empower people to make decisions and affect change in their lives.

At Auternative Coaching we passionately believe that with the right support everyone can grow and develop the skills they need to lead happy and fulfilling lives.

Our coaching method is based on the principles of neuro-linguistic programming and positive psychology coupled with a new way of viewing autism using a strengths based approach.

All of our coaches have first hand experience of autism and its challenges, a Diploma of Applied NLP : Autism Coaching and at least four years experience of working with autistic individuals and their families.

How we work

We offer three coaching services; a group coaching course for parents/carers of children on the autism spectrum, individual 121 coaching for parents/carers, and individual 121 coaching for autistic adults.

We also offer bespoke group coaching courses designed to meet the needs of organisations where training is required to help support the needs of autistic individuals.

What our clients say about us

"My coach helps me to keep in mind that I need to focus on things that are helpful for me, not just for my son.

"It’s helpful to have someone who is also a parent of a child with autism and she has useful ideas and experience about parenting an autistic child. She’s very friendly, kind and professional and someone who can listen and not judge me."
